Team Up
The Team Up Program is a free after school program that provides a safe and fun learning experience for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program includes a healthy snack and dinner, academic lesson aligning with students' school day, homework assistance, and positive social enrichment activities. Team Up also helps develop positive behavior through character development activities.

Safety Patrols
Safety Patrols (5th grade) are a select group of students that are committed to providing a safe school environment for all students at Rufus E. Payne Elementary School. A Safety Patrol member should be responsible, respectful, cooperative, and helpful. They should always model CHAMPS expectations. Members of the Safety Patrols must remain in good academic standing in all subject areas and model good behavioral choices.
Duties include:
Hallway monitoring
Assisting students as they exit cars during arrival time
Assisting students as they enter cars during dismissal time
Helping students get to class or designated areas without running
Assisting/working cooperatively with adults in assigned areas
Greeting parents and guests.

Student Ambassadors
A Student Ambassador at Rufus E. Payne Elementary is a student leader who represents our school with pride and helps create a positive, welcoming environment for all. Ambassadors serve as role models by demonstrating respect, responsibility, and kindness.
Duties include:
Greeting visitors and assisting during school events.
Helping new students feel comfortable and learn school routines.
Promoting school spirit and positive behavior among peers.
Supporting teachers and staff with special projects or activities.
Encouraging classmates to follow school expectations and show leadership.
Student Ambassadors are chosen for their leadership qualities, good character, and willingness to help others.
