Ms. Latina Brewer, M.Ed.
Born in Kentucky and raised in Jacksonville, Florida since the age of four, Ms. Latina Brewer is a proud product of Duval County Public Schools. A graduate of Jean Ribault Senior High School, she has always been deeply rooted in the Jacksonville community and committed to the success of its students.
Ms. Brewer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Sociology from the University of Central Florida. She also holds specialized certificates in Criminal Profiling and Victim’s Advocacy. Her passion for education and leadership led her to pursue a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida.
Now entering her ninth year in education and her second year as Assistant Principal at Rufus E. Payne Elementary, Ms. Brewer brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a student-centered mindset to her role. She is a two-time Teacher of the Year, recognized for her excellence in teaching and her unwavering commitment to student achievement.
Ms. Brewer’s educational philosophy centers on the belief that every child deserves a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where they are empowered to reach their full potential. She is passionate about equity in education, fostering strong relationships with students and families, and cultivating a school culture that celebrates growth, resilience, and academic excellence.
With a heart for service and a drive to inspire, Ms. Brewer continues to be a transformative leader who is dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of students and the broader school community.
