5000 Role Models of Excellence Project

Mentoring, Guidance and Educational Assistance

 

The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project aims to intervene in the lives of young male youth in an effort to provide them with positive role models and experiences that will empower them to make good choices, encourage healthy living, be responsible, be respectful, and achieve their goals. 

Boys in grades 9 - 12 participate in various cultural and educational experiences such as visits to college campuses, workshops, and job and career building trainings. Students will also serve as ambassadors for the program and the school district throughout the city of Jacksonville. 5000 Role Models of Excellence Site Director will serve as club sponsor to facilitate weekly meetings, speakers, field trips, and assist in Role Model recruitment.

Please Note: A perspective member should be a young male at a participating 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project school. Role Models must complete the Application and Parent Consent Form. Role Models must be willing to attend weekly meetings and attend events wearing the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project uniform. To be deemed eligible a prospective member must meet at least two of the qualifying criteria factors. 

5000 School Sponsor

The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project aims to positively impact the lives of young men by providing positive role models, meaningful experiences, and opportunities that empower them to make good choices, practice healthy living, demonstrate responsibility and respect, and achieve their goals.

A prospective student member should be a male student (membership is not exclusive to minority males) enrolled at a participating 5000 Role Model of Excellence Project school. The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project is a uniformed program. Parents/guardians are responsible for providing the required uniformed, which includes:

  • White long-sleeved dress shirt

  • Black dress pants

  • Black dress shoes

  • Black socks

  • Black belt

Student members are expected to attend weekly meetings and participate in program events while wearing the required uniformed. Students must complete the online application and submit any additional required documentation to the Site Directors at their school.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered eligible for membership, a student must meet at least two of the established qualifying criteria.

Registration Process

Step 1: Complete the Student Role Model Application

Register to become a student Role Model by completing the online application by clicking Become a Student Role Model!

Step 2: Complete the Site Enrollment Process

After submitting the application, the student will be contacted by the Site Director with information regarding a site meeting and completing any additional enrollment requirements.
