Fashion Society

Raines Fashion Society is a hands-on design club where students explore the art of haute couture.

Club Description:
Raines Fashion Society is a hands-on design club where students explore the art of haute couture. Students learn how a garment develops from an idea into a finished piece through research, mood boards, fashion illustration, fabric selection, patternmaking, sewing, fitting, and hand embellishment. The club emphasizes the craftsmanship behind couture, including careful construction and decorative techniques such as bead and sequin embroidery. Members build a portfolio of their work and collaborate on designs for the runway.

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to give Raines students a space to develop their creativity, technical skills, and discipline through fashion design. We aim to help young designers take pride in their craftsmanship and make Raines a center for emerging fashion talent in Jacksonville.

Meeting Days and Times:
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30–4:30 p.m.

Meeting Location:
Room 707
