PRIORITIES FOR MAGNET SCHOOLS

At most magnet and special transfer option schools, there are not enough seats to accommodate every student applying. For this reason, each selection made on the application is assigned a “priority”, which is considered in the lottery. Priorities for both magnet and special transfer option schools are described in this section.

PRIORITIES FOR SPECIAL TRANSFER OPTION SCHOOLS

Current 5th-grade and 8th-grade special transfer option students must reapply!

All Special Transfer Option applications are processed through the lottery. Seats are allocated according to availability and priority. Applications are processed based on priority until all open seats are filled.

MAGNET SCHOOLS ENTERING GRADES K, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5

MAGNET SCHOOLS ENTERING GRADE 6 - Current 5th - grade magnet students must reapply!

MAGNET SCHOOLS - ENTERING GRADE 6 at LAVILLA OR FORT CAROLINE MS

MAGNET SCHOOLS - ENTERING GRADES 7 AND 8

MAGNET SCHOOLS - ENTERING GRADES 7 AND 8 at LAVILLA OR FORT CAROLINE MS

MAGNET SCHOOLS - ENTERING GRADE 9

MAGNET SCHOOLS - ENTERING GRADES 10, 11 and 12
