⚠️ STORMY WEATHER AHEAD⚠️
The following important announcement was made by Duval County Public Schools at 2pm today (Monday, Oct 7th): "In response to the safety threat posed by the storm and the need for shelters, Duval County Public Schools will be closed from Wednesday, Oct. 9 through Friday, Oct. 11. All school activities, including athletics and after school programs, are canceled for those days. After the storm passes and personnel begin recover efforts, the district will make an announcement regarding operations for the follow week."

➡️Tuesday, October 8th: Tomorrow/Tuesday will be a regular school day. Extended Day & Team Up will remain open normal hours tomorrow/Tuesday; however, parents and families are strongly encouraged to pick up their children prior to the close of tomorrow's after-school programs to allow everyone time to prepare for the impact that Hurricane Milton is expected to bring.
➡️ Wednesday, October 9th: SCHOOLS CLOSED due to Hurricane Milton.
➡️ Thursday October 10th: SCHOOLS CLOSED due to Hurricane Milton.
➡️ Friday, October 11th: SCHOOLS CLOSED due to Hurricane Milton.

Mark Your Calendars: School make-up days have already been determined by our school district. Friday, November 1st, was a built-in 'Weather Day' and will now be a school day to make up for the instruction lost due to Hurricane Helene. Friday, February 14th & Friday May 30th were built-in 'Weather Days' and will now be regular school days to make up for the instruction that will be lost due to Hurricane Milton. Join us to celebrate the 25th annual Lights On Afterschool Oct. 24, 2024!
Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates media coverage across the country each year.
The Afterschool Alliance organizes Lights On Afterschool to draw attention to the many ways afterschool programs support students by offering them opportunities to learn new things—such as science, community service, cheer, dance, team sports, good sportsmanship, tech, robotics, Tae Kwon Do, and poetry—and discover new skills. The events send a powerful message that millions more kids need quality afterschool programs.
