We hope everyone had an amazing first week of school last week.
All seniors and juniors should have received their IDs and laptops last week. Make-up distribution will be during 7th period on Monday, August 18th, for seniors and Tuesday, August 19th, for juniors. There will be an all-call intercom announcement to dismiss students to receive their items in the media center.
Sophomores and freshmen will receive their laptops and IDs through their ELA classes this week. Monday and Tuesday will be sophomores. Freshmen will be on Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure you are in class on your designated day to receive your in a timely manner.
The Schedule Correction Form is now closed. School counselors will continue reviewing correction requests this week. Students should check their FOCUS accounts daily to ensure they are following the correct schedule. For schedule change requests that have been denied, students will receive a notification via their DCPS student email with reason(s) for why their schedule change request was not approved.
Parking decals can be picked up at the window of room 212 during lunches. Students must bring a completed parking application, printed receipt, and copies of their driver’s license, registration, and insurance. All students driving to school MUST have a parking decal. Towing will begin on September 2nd.
Our first PTSA meeting of the year is this week on Tuesday, August 19th, at 5:30pm in the media center. Everyone is welcome to attend. Don’t forget that the PTSA online fanwear store closes tomorrow, August 18th. Purchase your items today at https://www.achsstingrays.com.
Also on Tuesday, August 19th, is our first SAC meeting of the year at 6:15pm in room 104, located directly across from the main office.
Senior ad pages for this year’s yearbook are on sale at yearbookordercenter.com. This is also where you can place your orders for a yearbook. Right now is their lowest price of the year so don’t wait!
Seniors, be sure to schedule your senior photos with Cady Studios at cady.com/schedule. Only photos taken with Cady will be in the yearbook.
There are still a few senior reserved parking spaces available. The cost is an additional $50 to purchase one of these spots. Students have until October 1st to paint their spot or to purchase a reserved spot.
Also, don’t forget to purchase your senior bundle or underclassman bundle for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students today! More information was sent out earlier this week via email and can be found on dcps.schoolcashonline.com.
Go ahead and mark your calendars: Homecoming Week this year is September 29th – October 3rd. More information will be coming soon so keep an eye out on the Morning Rays and your DCPS student emails.
Ray Rally will be that Wednesday, October 1st, from 3:30pm to 7pm.
The Homecoming football game will be that Friday, October 3rd, with kick-ff at 6:30pm.
Our annual Homecoming Dance will be that Saturday, October 4th, from 7pm to 10pm in the gym.
