Hello Stingray Nation!
First, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, October 13th, and Tuesday, October 14th. We look forward to having your students back on campus for the start of Quarter Two on Wednesday, October 15th.
Students will have Quarter One Report Cards posted in Focus on Tuesday, October 21st.
Your Voice Can Make a Difference! Families, please take a few minutes to complete the Data Triangle Survey open now through October 21st. Your input will truly guide how we strengthen learning, safety, and engagement at Atlantic Coast. More information and links to the survey are available at: www.duvalschools.org/survey.
Did you miss the yearbook photo session for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders? If you did, there will be a make-up photo session on November 4th. This is for underclassmen only. Seniors must schedule a session directly with Cady Studios by the January 1st deadline at cady.com/schedule.
Seniors! You have until October 31st to purchase a senior ad in the yearbook at the discounted price unless they out first. There are only 2 pages left so don’t wait!
On Wednesday, October 22nd, all 9th graders will be taking the PSAT 8/9, all sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT, and all seniors who still need a passing reading or math test grade for graduation will be taking the in-school SAT. This is an important testing day for all our students. Please mark it on your calendar. You can help your student be successful by making sure they are well rested, eat a good breakfast, and bring their fully charged laptop to school.
All students should make sure to keep their school-issued laptops up to date so they are ready for classes and testing. The following simple steps will make sure their devices automatically receive necessary apps and updates. First, laptops should be charging when not in use. Second, students should stay logged in. Sleep mode is fine, but they should not shut down. Third, laptops should stay connected to the internet as much as possible. Finally, students should restart their laptops once a week. We appreciate your help in making sure your student keeps their laptop updated.
The next PERT will be offered on Wednesday, October 29th, after school. PERT is important for students who wish to take dual enrollment classes. It is also one avenue for earning senior leave. Students should check One View for a link to a registration sign-up sheet. The sign-up will be open until Friday, October 24th.
On October 16th, the ACHS School Counseling Team will be hosting a parent night. Please join us to hear about graduation requirements, promotion requirements, post-secondary preparedness, scholarships and more. The session begins at 6pm in the Atlantic Coast Auditorium. Grades 9 – 12 are welcome.
