Stingray Nation Weekly Update Atlantic Coast High School

Hello Stingray Nation!

Stingrays, if you are newly enrolled or were absent on your scheduled course selection day, please meet with your assigned school counselor during your assigned lunch time, Monday through Thursday. Be sure to visit by May 8th, or you will lose this opportunity.

Parents and Families, thank you for all who donated to our student and teacher test-day pick-me-up endeavor. We received a lot of snacks for teachers and candy for students. We thank you! If you would still like to donate lollipops or mints to our students for test day, please see either this Donors Choose or this Amazon wish list. We appreciate your support!

May 7th, May 12th, and May 14th are crucial testing days for end-of-course exams (EOCs). An email was sent to each student with their testing schedule. Please ask them about it! We appreciate your help with making sure students are well rested and eat breakfast, especially on test days. They should also charge their student laptop overnight and bring both laptop and charger to school.

ACHS PTSA is making Waves! Join us at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena for the inaugural game of the Jacksonville Waves Professional Women's Basketball Team on Friday, May 15th at 7:00pm. $5 from every ticket sale will come back to the school. In addition to a great fundraising event, the AC Men's Basketball team will be recognized at the game for their accomplishments this year. Click HERE to purchase tickets!

The Florida Bright Futures application still is open. Many students who qualify have not completed applications. To access the Bright Futures Application, click HERE. Bright Futures Work or Community Service hours are due to School Counselors by May 1, 2026. Qualifying test scores must be earned, and the Bright Futures application must be completed by August 31, 2026. For more details regarding Bright Futures, click HERE.

Are you interested in hosting a foreign exchange student this summer in the month of July? EF is looking for host families in the Jacksonville area. Many of our students here at Atlantic Coast have traveled overseas with EF, so this is an amazing opportunity to connect with students from around the world and show them how amazing Jacksonville (and Florida) is! Students are in Florida for 2 to 4 weeks in July 2026. If you are interested, please complete this form to be contacted with more information.

Don’t forget that you can still make a donation to Project 35 through May 15th. For our senior families, this project also provides an opportunity for seniors to earn additional graduation tickets. A $10 donation earns 1 additional graduation ticket, a $35 donation earns 2 additional graduation tickets. Note that two is the maximum number of additional tickets that can be earned through Project 35. Donations can be made HERE. Thank you for supporting Stingray students and helping us make a positive impact beyond our campus.

As always, if you have any feedback or input on our work here at Atlantic Coast please reach out to the school.
