This is Principal Chirino with your week at a glance. Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I am thrilled to be a part of the AC family and look forward to partnering with all of you for your child’s success. We’re excited to kick off another great year and look forward to keeping our families connected and informed through our weekly updates with important news, events, reminders, and opportunities happening on campus. With this being the first update of the new year, there is A LOT of information so you are prepared for Monday morning.
Schedule: Students should log in to Focus tonight to review their schedule, as adjustments may have been made over the past few days. Tomorrow morning, all students should report directly to their 1st period class. In first period, students will receive a golden rod copy of their schedule with a bar code to access lunches.
Regarding schedule changes: Students who need a schedule correction must submit a Schedule Correction Form by Friday, August 14th. The form is available on the Atlantic Coast website and in each classroom via a QR code starting tomorrow. Counselors will review the forms daily and update incorrect courses first. Counselors will not be available for meetings, as they will be scheduling new enrollments throughout the day.
School Start/Parent Drop-off: School begins promptly at 7:10 AM each day, and doors open to students at 6:45 AM. As with every new school year, please expect delays in the car rider line as we get our routines flowing smoothly. Arrive early, allow extra time, and please be patient as our team works to get everyone on campus safely and on time. For student safety, do not drop students off on the street or in the front loop.
Bus Transportation: Students who need bus transportation must have a transportation application completed through the Parent Portal. Please complete the application as soon as possible to avoid delays in transportation services.
ID’s and Laptops: Student IDs and laptops will be distributed through English classes beginning Tuesday, August 11th. Our goal is for all students to receive both by the end of the second week of school. Returning students should already have their laptops with them.
Student Parking: All students who park on campus must have a valid parking decal. Beginning September 1st, vehicles without a decal may be towed. Celebration Church will also tow unauthorized vehicles from its parking lot, so students should not park there. Juniors and seniors may pick up parking decals in the Media Center during their assigned lunch beginning Monday, August 10th. Students must bring printed copies of the following: SchoolCashOnline receipt showing payment for the decal, completed parking application with parent/guardian signatures, driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance card. Again, students must bring printed copies of these items in order to receive a parking decal.
Get involved: Looking to get involved at Atlantic Coast? Come join us next Tuesday, August 18th at 5:30 PM for our first monthly PTSA meeting followed by our first monthly School Advisory Committee meeting at 6:15 PM. Parents, Students and community members are welcome to attend. Please refer to the school website under SAC for more information.
