Amendment 3 and the Duval County Public Schools 1-mill referendum are two separate items on the November 3 ballot.

🏫 The 1-mill referendum is a continuation of the millage approved by Duval County voters in 2022. It supports school funding, including teacher pay, as well as arts and athletics.

🏠 Amendment 3 is a proposed change to the Florida Constitution addressing property taxes statewide. The amendment excludes school funding.

Why is the 1 mill back on the ballot this November?

The current 1-mill was approved by Duval County voters in 2022, and under Florida law, voters must consider its continuation every four years.

The 1 mill has helped support teacher compensation and efforts to recruit and retain qualified, certified educators. Since 2022, teacher vacancies have declined, teacher retention has increased, and Duval County Public Schools has become an A-rated district for two consecutive years.

As we approach the November election, we’ll be sharing factual information to help our school community understand what the 1 mill is, how the funding is used, and what voters will be asked to consider.

Last week was full of smiles at Arlington! 🐬 Our students showed off their House Color pride, and our Kindergarteners had a blast spinning the wheel to discover their houses. To top it off, Icy Spot stopped by and our dolphins loved cooling down with a sweet treat!

Ms. Walker led a hands‑on exploration where students used real science tools to measure, observe, and investigate the world around them. Their curiosity was off the charts, and we loved seeing them dive into discovery!

Tomorrow is our first House Color Day of the new school year! 🎉
Students, don’t forget to come dressed in your House colors and show your spirit. Our kindergarteners will get to spin the House Wheel and find out which House they belong to… let the adventure begin! 🖤💙❤️💚

Yesterday, our Kindergarten and First Grade classes had a special visit from our school counselor, Mrs. Bradner! 💗The students participated in a fun activity to get to know her better and learned about the important role of a school counselor. They talked about the different ways Mrs. Bradner can support and help them throughout the school year.

We are so thankful to have Mrs. Bradner as part of our school family and for helping our little learners feel safe, supported, and cared for! 🥰

What a FIN‑tastic week! 🐬 Our dolphins are swimming strong, making friends, exploring new routines, and kicking off an amazing year.
