Good Morning Bayview Braves! This week we are celebrating Literacy Week, Florida! We will be celebrating each day so ensure that all Braves attend school to participate!!! Today, all students chose a free book to keep from Bayview's New Lending Library! Tuesday- K-2 students will draw a picture and write about what they want to do when they grow up. Teachers will have Circle time to discuss with students how literacy is the foundation for success. 3-5 students will write an essay about how literacy is the foundation for success. **If students turn their writing in on Friday, they will earn a sweat treat! Wednesday- Guest Reader Day! Thursday- Favorite Childhood Book: Teachers will read a book or a chapter from your favorite book when you were a kid to their class. Friday- K-2: Wear a shirt with words on it that your student can read or make one! 3-5: Figurative Language Dress Up Day!

Tomorrow, Thursday, January 23rd all schools will be open and fully operational! The weather is expected to be very cold for the remainder of the week. Please ensure students are dressed in winter wear with jackets and pants. Also, parents- students are not to be dropped off earlier than 8 am. No staff is available to monitor students, which is a safety issue. We look forward to seeing everyone back in school tomorrow!

Due to possible severe weather-NO SCHOOL TOMORROW, Wednesday, January 22nd! Duval County Public Schools and district offices will be closed tomorrow! We encourage you to stay up to date with the latest and the reopening of schools and offices by email messages, our website, our app, and through social media.

Beginning tomorrow through Friday we will start PM 2 state assessments for kindergarten - 5th grade! Let's have perfect attendance!

Good afternoon Bayview Braves! This Saturday is the Elementary School Showcase Saturday, and all Elementary schools will be open for family visits and tours! We will have 4 tour times: 9:00 am, 10:45 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:00 pm. If you have a kindergartener starting next school year, you are welcome as well!

Families, Today we had a false alarm where a student pulled the fire alarm. We need your support. When talking to your student about a fire drill, explain that it's best practice to learn how to get out of a building safely if there was ever a fire, emphasizing the importance of staying calm, listening to instructions, and quickly exiting to a designated meeting spot outside; make sure they understand that a fire alarm means to leave immediately and never go back inside for anything. Please also ensure your student understands that pulling this alarm means that there is a potential fire on campus that they see/are experiencing. Thank you in advance for helping ensure our students are safe in an emergency.

Bayview Families, Resurrection Church will be giving away 100 turkeys to Bayview families in need on Wednesday, November 20th from 6:00-7:00pm. It will be a first come, first served basis. Thanksgiving fixins' will also be provided!
