Hello Chimney Lakes Families & Care Givers:

Hope you are off to a great start to the week! We have finished our first month of BIZI rewards and points and students will be honored for their great behavior and teamwork on Friday! Hope you took some time to go to the BIZI Store. Did you know you can see your child's BIZI report by going to www.oneview.duvalschools.org? Select "Blended Learning:" and go to BIZI. However, you have to sign in as your student. Look for their username and password in their Daily Folder or Planner.

Open House is coming up soon. I've attached a flyer for you to review the times for your child's class. We will begin in the multi-purpose room with our annual meeting information and then let you go to the classrooms. Don't forget to bring money for your child to purchase their Chimney Lakes school theme tee as well as Frozen Scoops. Join PTA! You can also learn how your student works as a team in class, which elevates everyone's learning! Finally, you can also go to our Fall Book Fair! Students brought home flyers they receive in Media class starting today.

Girls on the Run is BACK for the 26-27 school year! You can register by clicking here. Registration fills up fast, but some times we do pull students off the waiting list.

If you can't do Girls on the Run, no worries! OT Athletics Sports Spectacular is right around the corner. Please look for the flyer soon!

Military Families: Our first Flag Raising Ceremony is right around the corner. This year, we would like to recognize those parents who are currently deployed by placing a yellow ribbon around a tree for them until they return. If you have an active duty parent or guardian who is currently deployed, please complete this form: Yellow Ribbon Recognition Request Form  – Fill out form

For the safety of students, here are a few reminders for dismissal:

*Use PikMyKid to change your child's dismissal procedure.

*Park & Pick Up: You will need to announce your student on the app. Students will be checked at the gate to make sure they are going with the right adult. Parents will need to be patient as the safety of the student is more important than impatience.

*Independent Walkers: will be dismissed right at 3:00 pm to walk on the sidewalk to the crossing guard. Students who are designated as Independent Walkers in PikMyKid are to walk independently to their location. They are not supervised.

*Car Riders: All cars should have a school-issued car tag with the PikMyKid number to ensure the process is safe and efficient. Everyone is required to have the code number for the student. Students will be placed on the driver's side of the car. It is not safe to use the passenger side of the car. Please make arrangements in your car to accommodate this safety request.

*Bus Riders: Make sure your student is registered for the bus. Use the Edulog app to monitor where your child's bus is on the app. Remember, ALL kindergarten students must have a Kindergarten Bus Rider form before boarding the bus.

Finally, don't forget that Labor Day is Monday, September 7th. There is no school for all.

Hope you have a great week!

Sincerely,

Marianne G. Lee
