Greetings HAE Families!

We hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the school year! We wanted to share a few important updates and reminders with our families.

Fire Drill
Today, Hendricks Avenue Elementary conducted an evacuation (fire) drill in accordance with state safety requirements. Our students and staff did a wonderful job following procedures and safely evacuating the building.

Arrival & Dismissal Safety Reminder
As we continue working together to ensure a safe arrival and dismissal for everyone, our crossing guard has asked us to remind families of the following:

• Please do not turn left into the car line or enter ahead of vehicles already waiting in line. All vehicles should enter the car line by turning right and following the established traffic pattern. Cutting into the line can create unsafe conditions, particularly for students and families using the crosswalk.

• Please reduce your speed when exiting campus and traveling through the designated school crossing zones. These areas are especially busy during arrival and dismissal, and we want to ensure the safety of our students, families, staff, and crossing guards.

School Lunch Reminder
We also want to make families aware of an important update regarding school meals. Hendricks Avenue Elementary is a non-CEP school. Unlike last school year, there is no grace period this year for students who do not have funds available in their meal accounts, including newly enrolled or transferring students.
Students without available meal funds will receive the district's designated Non-Reimbursable Meal Option, which consists of a sun butter and jelly sandwich and a 4 oz. juice.

We encourage families to check their child's meal account and ensure funds are available for school meals. If you believe your child may qualify for free or reduced-price meals, please complete the appropriate meal application as soon as possible.

Thank you for your attention to these important updates and for helping us keep our Eagles safe, supported, and ready to learn each day.

Have a great evening!
