Dear parents/guardians,
Happy Sunday Patriots! What another fantastic week at JSMAL. Yesterday, 40 of our cadets in advanced math got to spend the day with four cadets and two math professors from West Point in a STEM lab all day. They built machines with gears and saw how math is used in everything we do. The day ended with six teams of JSMAL cadets building their own inventions and presenting them to each other. There were lots of winners, cheers, teamwork, and laughter. Cadets also experienced VR (virtual reality) headphones. Some jumped out of a helicopter (virtually) and landed in the middle of the Army Black Knights football field. Others jumped off a high dive board and swam across the pool under water. It was a glorious day, and I hope to bring it back every year.
Parents and guardians, if you need help navigating Focus, the parent portal, and any of the blended learning platforms in One View, one of our parents has volunteered to be at JSMAL every Friday from 2:00-3:30pm in the front office to assist any of you who need help.
Academic Night and Title I Parent Engagement – Come join us on February 25, from 5:30 to 7:00pm. This is a family event full of information about your child’s data, what the state tests look like and how to help your cadet. We will have food and prizes.
