Greetings MAJ Families!
We have another busy week ahead! 5th grade students will be taking their mid-year science assessment on Monday, and we will continue with midyear testing for students in grades Kg – 2, small groups, and make-ups for students who were absent on their designated testing day(s) this past week.
Our December School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting will be held tomorrow, Monday, December 8th, at 4:45 PM. SAC meetings are open to all and are an excellent opportunity to learn more about what is happening at our school and provide input to help us to continue improving.
Students are invited to participate in optional holiday dress up days through the month of December. Dress days for this week are as follows: Monday – dress like an elf, Tuesday – wear red and white, Wednesday – wear tropical holiday attire, Thursday – wear “festive bling” (lights, tinsel or sparkles), and Friday – dress as your favorite holiday character or wear a holiday shirt.
As a reminder, all students who need bus transportation must be registered each year. You can complete this through your parent account. Students should be tapping on the bus each day using their student ID. Students who have lost their ID will need to pay $5 to purchase a new one.
Our PTO will be sponsoring “Santa’s Workshop” this week. This is an opportunity for your child to purchase gifts for family members all by themselves (with a little help from our amazing PTO volunteers!). Students will preview the store on Monday, and each class has a scheduled time for students who have brought money in to go shopping. Detailed information was sent home with students last week.
This Saturday, December 13th is our patrol sponsored “Breakfast with Santa.” Information went home last week, and the last day to purchase tickets is on Tuesday, December 9th.
Also - the deadline for 5th grade yearbook dedication pages is this Friday, the 12th.
As always, we thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education as we are Blasting Off to Reach New Goals!!! We look forward to seeing all our students tomorrow morning!
