FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - The countdown is on — just ONE month until the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 10. Take small steps now to get ready: Adjust sleep schedules a little each week, gather school supplies and organize backpacks, keep learning going with 20 minutes of reading or math each day, mark important school dates on your family calendar, and start practicing morning routines. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for another amazing year!
VOLUNTEERS HELP TRANSFORM CAMPUS – Today we’re giving a big Team Duval Shoutout to volunteers from Ernst & Young who helped beautify the garden spaces at Oceanway Middle School. Led by Mrs. Paulina Bain, the group contributed a generous donation and hands-on support to transform the garden while inspiring students to think about conscious consumption and the power of their choices. Their efforts sparked campus-wide interest in gardening, growing food, and recycling. Thank you for inspiring our future leaders through your meaningful work!
REGISTER FOR A BUS TODAY - Bus registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open. All students who plan to ride a school bus next year must be registered in advance, including students enrolled in self-contained ESE programs. HANDS-ON LESSONS AT OCEANWAY MIDDLE SCHOOL – Oceanway Middle School students received an unforgettable science lesson, thanks to the University of Florida College of Medicine! Dr. Reetu Grewal and her team led students through a workshop about biopsies and sutures, and showed them how to work with surgical tools. The experience was part of the school’s Young Medics Program. Teacher Rhosalee Mangalindan-Stewart says the opportunity to “learn from experienced professionals was invaluable, and we're thrilled to see our students already looking forward to the next Young Medics workshop! We’d like to thank them for inspiring the next generation of innovators and healthcare professionals and are grateful for their partnership."

Wednesday- Students can wear bright color socks with their uniform
Thursday- Trivia During the Morning Announcements
Friday- Students can wear a college t-shirt with uniform pants. Door decorating contest is judged and winners named.
