CELEBRATING SCHOOL COUNSELORS — Team Duval is proud to recognize National School Counseling Week and the incredible impact our more than 240 school counselors make every single day. They advocate for students, help them navigate their academic journeys, and guide them toward their goals. Our success as an A-rated district with a 97.6% graduation rate would not be possible without these dedicated professionals. As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Their commitment to growing their own “superpowers” directly fuels student success across Team Duval. Join us in thanking our outstanding school counselors for the lasting difference they make in our schools and community!

This week is short due to the holiday on Monday. There will be no school on Monday in observance for President's Day. We will be back on campus Tuesday morning.
This week is a welcome quieter week. No major events are taking place but a few reminders.
Our students take monthly Unit Assessments on the content they are learning in class. We reward students who score in the "green". The green is considered Proficiency, and that is the goal every time. This week we are rewarding students in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade for last week's unit assessments. This week we will have all 3rd-5th grade take unit assessments. make sure you ask your child every week what they are learning and if they have taken a unit assessment. These assessments will assess what has been taught, but they are practice for our state assessments at the end of the year.
Please look for flyers and information regarding FAST Parent Nights for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. We are working on finalizing dates for March, either before or after Spring Break. I am also finalizing our End of Year Field Trip for all grade levels and you should see a letter go home about this in March. I know we are still in February, but March is right around the corner.
Have a great rest of your weekend and we will see everyone on Tuesday morning.

Welcome back, RHP families! Here is our weekly update for February 9th-13th.
Kindergarten has a Field Trip to Tree Hill on Tuesday. Money and permission slips were due last week. Please make sure you are at school on time. The bus will not wait since there is a scheduled time for them to arrive.
On Wednesday, we will have our Real Men Read Event from 8:30 am-9:30 am. We have recruited men from the community to come in and read to our classrooms. Our students need to see important figures within the community reading and valuing education!
On Wednesday, we will also send home Progress Reports. It's hard to believe that we are already halfway through the 3rd nine weeks. If a student is endangering of failing, they will receive a retention letter to go along with their progress report. We want to make sure parents know the possibility of retentions long before they happen. Teachers will also request conferences with those families to go over specific data and grades. Please look for the progress report when your child arrives home.
On Friday, we will have a Valentine's Day dance. The Flyers went home last week. Money is due on Thursday. You will not be able to pay for the dance on Friday. Thursday will be the last day we take money for the dance.
If your child brings Valentine's treats or cards, please send them with your child on Thursday or Friday. The front office will not be able to accommodate constant deliveries throughout the day. The office is a busy place already, so adding constant deliveries of treats and other items is overwhelming. Please help us out by sending those items with students that day.
We are excited for another great week! See everyone bright and early on Monday morning! Let's make this a great week!
Weekly Update for February 2nd-6th
It's going to be another cold week in Jacksonville, and we need all of Tiger Nation to be prepared! Monday it will be 24 degrees and many of our afternoons will only reach a high in the 40's and 50's. Please make sure students are dressed accordingly for the cold weather this week.
With the cold weather, we have noticed an increase in absences. We understand illness and colds; however, we need students at school if they are healthy! No one likes cold weather, but school does go on, and we need everyone here so they can learn.
Students are needed at school because we take unit assessments monthly. If students are missing, they also miss the lessons that will help them be successful. We reward students for scoring in the green. We want to make sure we are rewarding everyone who is working hard and seeing the improvement!
Attention 5th-grade families- all Magnet Applications have been extended and are due on Monday, Feb. 2nd. Many of our 5th graders go to Ribault Middle, Lavilla, and Springfield Middle. Get your applications in! Our school has direct continuity with those schools. Lavilla wants you to apply even without an audition in the following areas: band, film, and creative writing. Please access your application and complete it through your Parent Focus Account. Remember the deadline is Monday at 11:50pm. Think about your middle school options!
Let's make it a great week! Stay warm this week and let's keep moving in the right direction.

Monday, Jan. 26th, is the 100th Day of School! We are looking for our best dressed 100 year olds. Break out the walkers, grey hair, suspenders, and more! Let's celebrate our 100 days at school. The best part is we only have 80 days left in this school year!
