Weekly Update May 12th-16th
FAST Testing for 4th and 5th Reading and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Math will take place this week. Testing days will be Tuesday, May 13th and Thursday, May 15th. Breakfast will be provided starting at 8am. Our procedures and Calm Classroom will begin at 8:45am and testing will start promptly at 9am. Please make sure students are on time and ready to do their best. We will also test our 3rd graders that made a Level 1 on the FAST Reading assessment last week. They will be given additional assessments to help them pass to 4th grade. Those will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade will finish up their STAR CBM and any possible make ups they have this week.
Our 3rd-5th graders will have a Field Trip to Lonnie Miller Park on Friday, May 16th if they meet their Reading and Math goals for FAST testing. We will have a cookout, relay races, dodge ball, kickball, and other games. It should be a lot of fun so please encourage your student to do their best on the test this week!
Teachers will start entering grades and finalizing their last conferences. Even though we have a lot going on we must still keep academics and learning as a focus. Please help us keep students on track by encouraging them to do their best!
Thank you for your continued support every day! See everyone on Monday morning!

Week of May 5th-9th
Welcome Back! We have an extremely busy week at RHP this week.
Happy Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! Please make sure you recognize our amazing teachers this week. They work extremely hard each and every day. We have suggested themes for the week below:
Monday- bring your teacher a flower!
Tuesday- bring your teacher a school supply they can use!
Wednesday-
Thursday
Friday-
We have state testing this week for our 3rd graders and 5th graders. On Tuesday and Wednesday we will test our 3rd graders in Reading. This is very important because their score will determine promotion and retention. 5th grade will test on Wednesday for the FAST Science. On all days, please make sure students are at school on time for breakfast. We will start testing promptly at 8:45am each morning. Please be encouraging to students that are testing. A positive mind set goes a long way towards success.
Our K-2nd graders tested the PM3 FAST last week, but this week they will start their STAR CBM testing. This is an individual test for each student to determine their fluency and phonics/phonemic awareness. Please ensure they are at school each day as well.
On Wednesday and Thursday, all students will get a chance to pick out two books from the USA Book Fair for free. We are grateful for the opportunity from Read USA so our students have new books to read through the summer. Please ask your child about the books they receive!
Our school year is coming to a close quickly! Only 19 days left, and we are busy each and every week! Please help us by reinforcing rules and expectations at home. I know we are close to the end, but we still have lots to accomplish! We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday morning!

Tomorrow is the LAST Early Release of this school year!

Week of April 28th updates
Welcome back! We are back for another week at RHP! We have a lot going on this week as we start our testing season.
Our Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students will start testing for their final FAST PM3 this week. Many of our classes will start on Tuesday and complete testing by Friday. Our students will test in both Reading and Math. We want our students to hit their targeted goal! A Level 3 or higher is recognized by the state as "on grade level or exceeding". Please make sure students are on time to school each day and prepared to be successful. Students do better when they test in their natural environment. We are excited to see what our students are able to do, especially since they have worked so hard this school year.
Our 5th graders will take their End of Course Exams (EOC) for Art, Music, and PE during their resource time first thing in the morning. Please make sure they are on time as well.
Wednesday is our last Early Dismissal Day for the school year. We will dismiss at 12:30pm for all PreK and their siblings, followed by everyone else starting at 12:50pm.
We appreciate your continued support! We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday morning! Have a great rest of your evening and weekend!

Mark your calendars! Community Day is THIS SATURDAY! Hope to see you there!

Sea world estimated arrival back is 6:00-6:15. We hit traffic outside of Orlando. Please do not block the bus loop. There are cones set up in front of school for each grade level. Students will meet you there.

Weekly Update for Week of April 21st
We hope everyone had a nice 3-day weekend and enjoyed this time with family and friends! We are back for another week and a long haul till the end of May. Our next holiday will be at the end of May for Memorial Day! This week we have some important events happening.
For all Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade families, you will see a FAST PM3 STAR letter on Monday. It will go home. It will have your child's individual data listed for PM1, PM2, and their goal for PM3 for both Reading and Math. The goal is a Level 3 or better! For students that make their individual goal for both Reading and Math will participate in our End of Year Field trip Reward in May. This letter will also give you some additional information about testing. Our testing for Kindergarten through 2nd grade will start the week of April 28th. Please encourage your child to do their very best!
Progress Reports will go home On Friday, April 25th. We will officially be at the halfway point of the nine weeks. Please look for the Progress report on Friday because it will go home!
On Thursday, April 24th we will have our school-wide field trips. Our K-2nd grade will go to the Zoo and our 3rd-5th graders will go to Sea World. There is a criteria that students must meet for the field trips, especially our 3rd-5th grade. Behavior is especially important for that one. On Monday, several letters will go home regarding the field trips. For 3rd-5th, students attending must be at school between 6:15am-6:30am. This is important because we must leave the school by 7:00am. If you are not there on time we will leave without you. Parents who are following the bus, same applies for you. We are asking all 3rd-5th graders attending to wear a yellow shirt. Sea World is a cashless park, however, there will be machines available to convert money into an actual credit card for free. We will return to campus by 5:30pm. For our Kindergarten-2nd graders attending the Zoo, we will leave school when the buses arrive so that will be between 9am-9:30am. You do not want to miss the bus. We are asking our Kindergarten-2nd graders to wear the color gray for that day. If you are planning on chaperone, you must follow the bus. If you are a parent that must attend with your child, we are asking that you meet us at the zoo with your child, this way they will be allowed to attend the trip. Once again, please make sure you check your child's backpack on Monday for important information regarding the trip.
We are looking forward to a great week! We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday morning! Have a great rest of your weekend!

Have a safe and blessed holiday weekend. See everyone on Monday!

We will also sell various snacks at the dance as well. All money will go toward student rewards for testing and end of the year events. Please support our students and school!

This is a 4-day week due to Friday being a holiday. The district is closed for Good Friday. Students will return to campus on Monday, April 21st.
We are looking forward to another great week at RHP. See you all on Monday morning!
Have a great night!

Parents,
Below is a message from Dr. Bernier, our Superintendent, around potential funding impacts. Please help by reaching out to your local Senator and Congressman about the upcoming vote.
Among the many characteristics that distinguish us from other school districts is the strength of our accelerated programs. Duval is a state leader in programs that include Dual Enrollment, Career and Technical Education, Advanced Placement, and the International Baccalaureate and Cambridge AICE diploma programs.
We should all be concerned that state legislation is being discussed that could cut the funding for these programs by 50%.
Wednesday is a critical committee hearing, and we need our parents and other stakeholders to understand the implications of this issue.
Please remember that, while these are primarily high school opportunities, the foundations for our excellence in these programs is established in our elementary and middle schools. That’s why this proposed legislation should be a concern to all of us.
Thank you for your assistance as we work to maintain the quality of programs we offer to our students.

Our school is taking all Kindergarten through 2nd grade to the Zoo and all 3rd through 5th grade to Sea World on Thursday, April 24th. Students do not have to pay for anything. Their behavior will earn them a spot on the bus! Please read the parent letter and acknowledge by signing that you understand the requirements to attend.
