CELEBRATING SCHOOL COUNSELORS — Team Duval is proud to recognize National School Counseling Week and the incredible impact our more than 240 school counselors make every single day. They advocate for students, help them navigate their academic journeys, and guide them toward their goals. Our success as an A-rated district with a 97.6% graduation rate would not be possible without these dedicated professionals. As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Their commitment to growing their own “superpowers” directly fuels student success across Team Duval. Join us in thanking our outstanding school counselors for the lasting difference they make in our schools and community!
Friday was an incredible day for our students! Please ask your child about a career they learned about yesterday. It was an awesome experience for all.

We’re celebrating Career Day this Friday! Students will participate in live demonstrations and classroom presentations from community partners representing a variety of careers. We’re also excited to welcome a special visit from the JSO Police Helicopter and K-9 Unit! 🚁🐕
Please do not be alarmed if you notice police officers on campus — they are here as part of Career Day to share about their careers with students, including a visit from K-9 Penny with our school police. It’s going to be a fun and engaging learning experience for our students!
We encourage you to ask your child:

Council Member Joe Carlucci, along with the City of Jacksonville Traffic Engineering Department, will be present to discuss planned road improvements for St. Augustine Road between Emerson Avenue and University Blvd. W. This is a friendly reminder that winter packet activities for reading and math were sent home before break. We hope our students have been spending a little time working on them over the break.
Students who return their completed packet to their teacher on Wednesday will earn a Badge of Honor and a special treat on Friday. There’s still time to finish—students have a few more days to complete their work. If a packet has been misplaced, a copy of the winter packet was sent via email for your convenience.
