Amendment 3 and the Duval County Public Schools 1-mill referendum are two separate items on the November 3 ballot.
The 1-mill referendum is a continuation of the millage approved by Duval County voters in 2022. It supports school funding, including teacher pay, as well as arts and athletics.
Amendment 3 is a proposed change to the Florida Constitution addressing property taxes statewide. The amendment excludes school funding.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - The countdown is on — just ONE month until the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 10. Take small steps now to get ready: Adjust sleep schedules a little each week, gather school supplies and organize backpacks, keep learning going with 20 minutes of reading or math each day, mark important school dates on your family calendar, and start practicing morning routines. Students in 4th and 5th grade will be taking the B.E.S.T. Writing Assessment next week. 4th grade on April 1st and 5th grade on April 2nd. We’re excited for them to show what they’ve learned!
REGISTER FOR A BUS TODAY - Bus registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open. All students who plan to ride a school bus next year must be registered in advance, including students enrolled in self-contained ESE programs.
