The Visual and Performing Arts program at William M. Raines High School continues to demonstrate the powerful impact that arts education can have on students, both on the stage and beyond the classroom.

Tyhlur Reynolds is a 2025 graduate of William M. Raines High School, where he served as the head drum major of the Raines Band. Tyhlur graduated 16th in his class with a 3.9 GPA, demonstrating that his commitment to excellence extended beyond the performing arts and into the classroom.

During his time at Raines, Tyhlur developed his skills as a musician, leader, and performer while becoming a proud representative of the school’s rich musical tradition.

Today, Tyhlur is a sophomore at Bethune-Cookman University, majoring in Finance, where his passion for music and leadership continues to flourish. He was recently selected as one of five drum majors of the 325-member B-CU Marching Wildcats. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the talent, discipline, confidence, and leadership cultivated through his experiences at Raines.

Tyhlur’s journey is a reflection of what makes the Raines Visual and Performing Arts program so special. Through music, performance, creativity, and leadership, our students are given opportunities to discover their talents, build confidence, achieve academically, and prepare for success long after graduation.

From the Raines stage to collegiate performance, Tyhlur is continuing to carry the Viking tradition of excellence with pride.

Congratulations, Tyhlur Reynolds! We are proud of you and excited to see where your talent, leadership, academic achievement, and dedication take you next!
