2024-2025 SY Federal Impact Aid (FIA) Survey Announcement The federal presence in our community and the significant tax exemptions available to federally connected personnel, businesses, and agencies identifies Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) as an eligible applicant for the Federal Impact Aid grant. This grant is designed to assist local school districts with high numbers of students who are federally connected and enrolled in one of our local schools. The grant funds received from this program are critical for ensuring that all children in Duval County receive an excellent education. Each year, the district uses the Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid to identify our federally connected students. On October 28th, the District’s yearly Federal Impact Aid survey was released through the parent portal in FOCUS. The district will not be mass producing paper copies. When logging in to the Focus Parent Portal, parents will need to access the Federal Impact Aid Data Collection Form by clicking on the green box labeled “Not yet started – Click to begin in English”. A screenshot is below for your reference. The survey contains 4 yes/no questions. If the parent answers “yes” to any of the questions, one or two additional questions will appear. Overall, the survey should not take a parent more than a couple of minutes to complete. Please see the link below to watch the video!! https://vimeo.com/1023005204?share=copy Thank for your continued support! Principal St. Amand Crystal Springs Elementary

Dear Team Duval, The City of Jacksonville is mobilizing in response to the impending threat of Hurricane Milton. In response to the safety threat posed by the storm and the need for shelters: Duval County Public Schools will be closed from Wednesday, Oct. 9, through Friday, Oct. 11. All school activities, including athletics and after school programs, are canceled for those days. After the storm passes and personnel begin recovery efforts, the district will make an announcement regarding operations for the following week. Make-Up Days Students and families should plan to make up two of the missed days on Feb. 14 and May 30. Those days are currently listed as weather days on the school calendar. The school calendar has additional time built-in to absorb the third day of closure. Facilities Preparations and Shelters District teams are already preparing campuses for the storm following normal procedures. We are preparing to open shelters at the following schools: • LaVilla Middle School of the Arts • Atlantic Coast High School • Landmark Middle School • Chaffee Trail Elementary School • Arlington Middle School Potential shelter guests should visit City of Jacksonville websites for any additional city shelters and specific shelter information.
