Good afternoon Crystal Spring families,
As the district and I have already posted, DCPS schools will be closed Wed-Fri and this upcoming Monday is teacher planning day. Hurricane Milton is extremely strong and everyone should pay close attention to the news and updates as we will begin to feel the effects beginning Wednesday afternoon. Please take care of yourself and your families through this time.

Dear Team Duval,
The City of Jacksonville is mobilizing in response to the impending threat of Hurricane Milton. In response to the safety threat posed by the storm and the need for shelters:
Duval County Public Schools will be closed from Wednesday, Oct. 9, through Friday, Oct. 11.
All school activities, including athletics and after school programs, are canceled for those days.
After the storm passes and personnel begin recovery efforts, the district will make an announcement regarding operations for the following week.
Make-Up Days
Students and families should plan to make up two of the missed days on Feb. 14 and May 30. Those days are currently listed as weather days on the school calendar. The school calendar has additional time built-in to absorb the third day of closure.
Facilities Preparations and Shelters
District teams are already preparing campuses for the storm following normal procedures. We are preparing to open shelters at the following schools:
• LaVilla Middle School of the Arts
• Atlantic Coast High School
• Landmark Middle School
• Chaffee Trail Elementary School
• Arlington Middle School
Potential shelter guests should visit City of Jacksonville websites for any additional city shelters and specific shelter information.
Good afternoon CSE families!
I wanted to let you know that the AC just went out in the building, but the district has maintenance coming to fix it. The students are comfortable and still learning. If anything changes, I will let you know. Thank you!

Parents and guardians, the City of Jacksonville, in partnership with Duval County Public Schools, is closing schools on Thursday and Friday out of an abundance of caution due to the high wind predictions for Jacksonville and surrounding areas. However, if you feel you need to keep your student home on Wednesday to complete preparations and it being early dismissal beginning at 12:45, your student will be marked excused. Please be safe and take care of yourself and your family!

BUS UPDATE:
Bus 156 and 223 both left the school at approximately 4:10. The bus will be dropping off 156 route stops first and then 223.
BUS UPDATE: Bus 23 will be the substitute bus to come and pick up both busses. It will be about 30 minutes late.
BUS INFO: Bus transportation just called and bus 156 and 223 do not have a bus driver and transportation is working on getting a bus. If you are able to come and pick your student up, it is highly recommended as there is no guarantee when a substitute bus will arrive.
IMPORTANT: Early Dismissal is THIS Wednesday, 9/25. Car rider dismissal begins at 12:45 and all students need to be picked up by 1:15. PK and KG walker dismissal is at 12:45, 1st-5th grade walker dismissal is at 12:55. Bus dismissal will begin as buses arrive. Extended day runs as normal.
Crystal Springs families,
Please find attached the flier for open house with the date and time. Have a great evening!
