May 11, 2026 - Eleventh and 12th grade students from across the district recently gathered at Jean Ribault High School for the 2nd Annual Financial Literacy Summit, hosted by the Rotary Club of Jacksonville. Informational sessions gave students practical advice on investing their money, managing a budget, and navigating next steps for college or vocational school.

The full-day session taught students about the many opportunities available to them after graduation. A plenary session titled "Pathways to Careers: Choices & Economic Mobility" featured a panel of employers and educational institutions, including the University of North Florida, Florida State College at Jacksonville, Jones Technical Institute, and CareerSource NEFL. The panelists responded to student-submitted questions about career choices, job training, and student financial assistance.

Students who attended the summit received a certificate of completion as well as a financial literacy workbook to apply the skills gained during the event.
