FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - The countdown is on — just ONE month until the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 10. Take small steps now to get ready: Adjust sleep schedules a little each week, gather school supplies and organize backpacks, keep learning going with 20 minutes of reading or math each day, mark important school dates on your family calendar, and start practicing morning routines. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for another amazing year!

LOCAL STUDENT LEADS WITH PHILANTHROPY - Genesis Faith Blunt from Ribault High receives today’s Team Duval Shoutout for the remarkable impact she is making through community service. In recent weeks, Blunt has led meaningful initiatives to provide meals and support to individuals and families experiencing hardship by hosting food giveaways. “It’s about making sure not one feels forgotten,” Blunt said. “The more people who get involved, the greater impact we can make together." Her dedication to youth mentorship and educational empowerment demonstrates that leadership has no age requirement. Thank you, Genesis, for demonstrating that meaningful change begins with a willingness to help others. We’re proud of you!

Trojan Nation. We would like to Welcome our new band director, Mr. Horton, to Trojan nation. There is a mandatory band camp meeting on July 1st, 2026, at 7:00 pm. Summer Band Camp will take place from July 13th - 31st.

Trojan Nation. Bus registration is open for the 2026-2027 school year. The registration deadline is July 22, 2026, to ensure a bus stop for the first day of school. Parents must request a bus from their parent focus account. Please see flyer for more information from the transportation department. Amanda Duckworth, a first-year teacher at Jean Ribault High School, has been named Duval County Public Schools’ Rookie Teacher of the Month for April.
Duckworth has demonstrated professionalism, a positive attitude and a strong commitment to growth throughout the district’s induction process. She actively engages in coaching cycles, applies feedback to her instruction and maintains clear classroom expectations that support student success.
Following CHAMPs training, Duckworth showed initiative by connecting with another new teacher in her subject area and coordinating an opportunity to observe model classroom teachers at Jean Ribault High School. The experience expanded beyond a required activity and became a collaborative learning opportunity.
“Amanda Duckworth consistently demonstrates professionalism, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to growth,” said Gregory Bostic. “Her initiative in seeking out learning opportunities and collaborating with peers reflects both her leadership and dedication to student success.”

Trojan Nation will host the mandatory parent meeting for those seniors accepted into the Nursing program for 2026-2027 school year. The parent meeting is mandatory on May 14, 2026, from 6 - 8 pm. Parents must bring copies of the following: Your student's government-issued identification card, social security card, and student's medical insurance card.
