📢 Pop Tabs for a Purpose! 🎗️
This summer, we are encouraging all of our students and families to collect aluminum can tabs to support Ronald McDonald House Charities! Every little tab helps make a big difference for families in need.
Please save tabs from soda cans, soup cans, energy drinks, and other aluminum containers all summer long. Students can bring their collected tabs to school during the SECOND WEEK of school.
Let’s work together to show how caring and generous our Mamie Agnes Jones Elementary family can be! ❤️🤍🎗️

STUDENT COUNCIL STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY – Congratulations to the student council at Mamie Agnes Jones Elementary School, who have earned a Team Duval Shoutout for their outstanding leadership and strong commitment to community service. Student council sponsor Mr. Parker shared that he is truly blown away by the students’ heart for giving back and their dedication to making a positive impact. Recently, members of the student council organized a meaningful initiative to donate food and supplies to the Jacksonville Humane Society. During their visit, students not only contributed essential items, but also had the opportunity to learn more about the organization’s mission and the important work it does within the community. They spent time interacting with the animals and even reading to them, helping to provide comfort and calm. This experience prepared students to become active and responsible citizens in their local community, while emphasizing the importance of civic engagement and service. The Mamie Agnes Jones Student Council has set an excellent example of compassion, leadership, and community involvement—great job!

Second Lady Usha Vance is inviting children across America to take part in her 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, encouraging students entering kindergarten through eighth grade to read 12 books between June 1 and September 4. Families who complete the challenge and submit their reading log will receive a personalized certificate, an America 250-themed bookmark, and a special link to select a prize. Participants will also be entered for a chance to visit Washington, D.C., and the White House with a chaperone. What a fantastic start to Summer Reading at the Maxville Branch Library! 📚☀️ MAJ families met for an evening full of fun, learning, and community as we kicked off the Jax Public Library Summer Reading Program. Kids and teens enjoyed games, amazing balloon animals, visits from the fire department, and plenty of smiles throughout the library. One of the highlights of the evening was every child and teen receiving their very first FREE summer prize book to help launch a season of reading adventures! We can't wait to see all the readers, learners, and explorers who will participate in this summer's program. If you missed the event the West Branch Library will be hosting their summer kick off party this Thursday from 4pm-5pm. Keep reading, keep learning, and make this your best summer yet! 📖✨

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend! We had a wonderful Career Day this past Friday. Huge thank you to all our amazing presenters, and to Mrs. Turano for organizing the event. Thanks also to our PTO for providing lunch for our presenters.

This Tuesday is also Bus Driver Appreciation Day! If your child rides the bus, consider having them write a note thanking their bus driver for getting them to and from school safely each day!!

Looking forward, our students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will be taking their state assessments next week. We appreciate your support in ensuring they get plenty of sleep and are at school each day!

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Consider having your child write a note or make a card for their teacher. Let’s show our teachers how much we appreciate all they have done and continue to do! (Don’t forget our ESE teachers, resource teachers, and other staff members as well!)

As always, we thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education as we are Blasting Off to Reach New Goals!!! We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning!

Greetings M. A. J. Families!

I hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend! As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, April 6th (weather day), or Tuesday, April 7th (teacher in-service day). While this is a short week, it is important to maintain good attendance.

We are in the final stretch of the school year and students who miss days, are late to school or leave early are missing valuable instructional time. We appreciate your support in ensuring your child or children arrive to school each day ready to learn!

Our next School Advisory Council Meeting will take place on Monday, April 13th at 4:45 pm. SAC Meetings are open to anyone who would like to come and are a great opportunity to share your ideas and suggestions as we continue working to improve our school.

As always, we thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education as we are Blasting Off to Reach New Goals!!! We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday morning!

We can’t wait to see what our amazing families can do.
Have a great day!
