CELEBRATING SCHOOL COUNSELORS — Team Duval is proud to recognize National School Counseling Week and the incredible impact our more than 240 school counselors make every single day. They advocate for students, help them navigate their academic journeys, and guide them toward their goals. Our success as an A-rated district with a 97.6% graduation rate would not be possible without these dedicated professionals. As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Our February All Pro Dads Meeting will take place this Tuesday, the 17th, at 7:45 AM. These meetings are open to all dads and are a great time for you to enjoy some time connecting with your child. Please plan to arrive a little early and bring your ID to sign in. We will have breakfast treats available!
This week is Wellness Wednesday – wear your Olweus No Bullying shirts!!
The month of February is Black History Month. Students and staff are encouraged to wear a black history inspired shirt this Friday, the 20th.
Mark your calendar and make plans to attend our Title 1 Family STEM Night next Thursday, February 26th! This will be a fun evening for the whole family with an opportunity to complete several different STEM activities!!

Our Student Council is working on a project to create and send letters of love to seniors living in nursing homes who may be experiencing isolation. We invite anyone—students, siblings, or family members—to help by making a card or letter.
Please have all cards returned to Mr. Parker by February 11 so they can be sent out. Thank you for helping us spread kindness and brighten someone’s day!
We would like to extend our best wishes to all Veterans on this Veterans Day. Our Mamie Agnes Jones students along with the Baldwin Senior High JROTC Color Guard and band director took part in a program honoring Veterans from our school and community families this past Friday. Thank you all for your service!
Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Title I Math Night! We truly appreciate you taking the time to come and learn more about the exciting math work your students are doing in the classroom. Your support and involvement make such a difference in their learning journey.
It was wonderful to see so many families exploring math together, engaging in hands-on activities, and celebrating the hard work our students are putting into building their math skills. We hope you enjoyed the evening and came away with some fun strategies and ideas to use at home.

We have a very busy week ahead of us! This week is Physical Education, Health and Safety Awareness Week. A flyer went home this past week with optional dress out days for students: on Monday wear a baseball jersey, on Tuesday wear tennis shoes, on Wednesday wear workout gear, on Thursday wear favorite team jersey or hat, and on Friday wear gear for many different teams as you can!
Our October School Advisory (SAC) meeting will take place on Monday the 6th at 4:45 PM. SAC meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend and are a wonderful opportunity to learn more about what is happening at the school as well as to provide ideas and input to help us continue to improve.
Come join us for our PE Health and Safety night taking place on Wednesday, the 8th from 6:00 – 7:15 PM. The whole family is welcome! The event will take place at the back of the school on the basketball court and adjacent field, with entry through the gate on the west end of the school.
This Friday, the 10th, is our fall picture day. Information on available photo packages went home this past week.
Friday is also the last day of the first grading period. Report Cards will be posted to the parent portal on Tuesday, October 21st.
