Great Superbowl Sunday TLAM family! This is Principal Williams. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Just a gentle reminder, we will have school on Friday, February 14th. It is not a weather day. Thank you to everyone who supported our students as they presented at last week’s February School Board meeting. They did a phenomenal job. This week is spirit and homecoming week. We have a weeklong of activities planned to celebrate. We will kick off our spirit week activities on Monday, February 10th with Pajama Day. Please make sure your students are wearing pajamas that are school appropriate and aligned to the district dress code policy. On last Friday, the 3rd Quarter Progress Reports were posted to Focus. We also posted our Out of Field Parent Notification letter. Please take a moment to review the letter and your child’s progress report in Focus. I encourage you to have a conversation with your child regarding their progress report. If you would like to schedule a parent teacher conference, please do not hesitate to reach the school. Our school wide tutoring to address learning gaps in core courses will start the week of February 17th in the AM and PM. This is in additional to the tutoring some teachers are already offering your child. If you are notified that your child has been selected for tutoring, please make sure your child attends. It is imperative that your child attend these opportunities in preparation for PM3 in the spring. Please mark your calendar for our Mid-Year Stakeholder Meeting on Wednesday, February 26th at 5pm in the media center. For 8th graders only, Ms. Bryan is collecting funds for the 8th Grade Gradventure in May. For more information regarding the trip, please feel free to reach out to Ms. Bryan via email at bryanm@duvalschools.org. If you are ready to order your 2025 Twin Lakes Yearbook, please see the attached flyer on how you may do so. The link will take you straight to the vendor website for you to start your order process. We have some 8th grade baby photos, we need more to make this edition extra special, so please send them to Ms. Murray at murrayj@duvalschools.org. today along with your furry friend (all grade levels). Please keep in mind that the only students allowed on campus before 9am are our students in Extended Care and tutoring. Thank you! As we transition to the fifth week of the third nine weeks, students are to come to school daily with their school planner, student ID, and a clear or mesh backpack. Please review the attachment to help you to plan accordingly for this week’s activities. This is a great time for you to update any information on your child’s blue card or FOCUS. If you have any questions regarding athletics, please email AD Larry Edwards at edwardsl2@duvalschools.org or Dean Story at storyg@duvalschools.org. Please know every time your child request a new ID regardless if is a temporary or permanent ID that there is a cost associated with the ID replacement. Some students have racked a lot of debt due to their inability to keep up with their assigned student ID. Please make sure your child has their student ID daily. If you have any questions regarding your child’s debt, please email AP Copeland at copelandd@duvalschools.org. Please join our great body of parents, teachers, and students as we work together in Building our A+ Pack Mentality at our next PTSA/SAC meeting on Monday, March 3rd at 5:30pm in the media center. A virtual link will be provided at a later time. We look forward to having you as part of our team. Have a PACKful week! "Before Christmas, we unveiled the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) to our students in their lunch. We spoke with students, detailing the purpose of this program, our new bullying rules, and examples of bullying. We are working to take more preventative actions and to change the culture of bullying. Florida Statute 1006.147, also known as The Jeffrey Johnston Stand Up for All Students Act defines bullying as, “Systematically and chronically inflicting physical hurt or psychological distress on one or more students or employees that is severe or pervasive enough to create an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment; or unreasonably interfere with the individual’s school performance or participation”. Our rules are as follows: • We will NOT bully others. • We will try to help students who are bullied. • We will try to include students who are left out. • If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school AND an adult at home. If your child reports bullying, feel free to reach out to us on our school number (904) 538-0825 and ask for a member of staff that can help. You may also contact us on FOCUS and our DCPS website. We hope that you continue to encourage your students to communicate when bullying is taking place. Thank you and we welcome your support in our efforts. Communication is the key to success, and we need your help to achieve our goal of a comfortable and non-threatening learning environment."

Great Sunday TLAM family! This is Principal Williams. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Just a gentle reminder. Students should not be on campus before 9am. We have parents dropping their student(s) off at 8am without informing the front office especially during last week’s weather. If you need an arrangement for your child, please contact me at raya@duvalschools.org. This week, Ms. Bryan will be collecting funds for the 8th Grade Gradventure. Please review the flyer that went home with your child last week for additional information or email Ms. Bryan at bryanm@duvalschools.org. If you are ready to order your 2025 Twin Lakes Yearbook, please see the attached QR Code and link to order. It’s time to add your baby photos to this year’s yearbook. Please read the attached flyer from Ms. Murray on how you can do so. Also, if you want to add your furry family member to our yearbook, please read the attached to find out how you can do so. Let’s make this year’s yearbook memorable for ALL. If you have any question regarding the yearbook, please email Ms. Murray at murrayj@duvalschools.org. This Friday, we will have our Inaugural Game Night that was postponed due to the inclement weather. This event is an awesome opportunity for our students to bring their gaming controls to school to game with their friends from 4:30pm to 7:30pm on Friday, January 31st. The event is $3.00 and students will need to complete the waiver passed out in their science classes in order to participate. All signed waivers are to be turned in to Ms. Collier in order for your child to participate. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Collier at colliera@duvalschools.org. We will also be continuing with our make ups for PM3. If your child has not taken their PM3 assessment, please make sure they presence and on time this week. Before the Christmas break, students were provided their debt list to give to you regarding student IDs. Please know every time your child request a new ID regardless if is a temporary or permanent ID that there is a cost associated with the ID replacement. Some students have racked a lot of debt due their inability to keep up with their assigned student ID. Please make sure your child has their student ID daily. Dear Team Duval, We continue to remain in direct contact with the City of Jacksonville Emergency Management team in regard to the potential for dangerous winter weather coming into our area. Given the possibility for unsafe conditions, Duval County Public Schools and district offices will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22. In addition, all athletics and after-school activities scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 22 will be canceled. All regularly scheduled athletic and extracurricular activities taking place today, Jan. 21, will continue as planned. All district employees will be asked to work remotely on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Employees should take direction from their immediate supervisor regarding work expectations. The district will use grace and compassion regarding any employee without electricity due to the weather. We encourage you to stay updated with the latest and the reopening of schools and offices by email messages, our website, our app, and through social media.
