Dear Northwestern families, The Florida Legislature is in session, and unfortunately, they are considering legislation that would have a strong negative impact on our schools. One of the things schools in Duval are known for is providing all students with programs to accelerate college credit and career development experiences. Unfortunately, the legislature is considering cutting funding to these highly successful programs by 50%. These are programs that enable your students to earn free college credit and career certifications while in high school. A 50% cut to our highly successful college dual enrollment, career training, and advanced high school diploma programs would be devastating and will impact all students. Attached is a one-page fact sheet about this proposed legislation. Please take a moment to review the attachment. If you are willing, please send a note with your feelings on this issue to your elected representatives. Good morning Hive Parents! I've been working all year for an additional bus to support students within a mile radius. I received a grant to help fund this request for the remainder of the year! If your child lives near these new stops, please contact me as soon as possible. The new route will begin on Monday.

Tutoring is FREE and offered to all students K-5 *Tomorrow is our Speed Data Family Night join us for door prizes, refreshments, and information about your child's scores. *Field trip forms were sent out, please sign and return. If your child is a safety hazard, they will not receive a form. Next Week Updates *Monday: NO SCHOOL! Good Morning 5th grade parents! Don't forget it's time to select your child's Middle School! Today all Middle Schools are doing tours. Please check out the school that's best for your child. Middle school is one of the biggest hurdles your child will conquer. Have a wonderful weekend!

Good Evening Bees! Here are our weekly updates: Special thanks to all the parents and guardians who made sure their child was in attendance for testing! We appreciate you! If your child missed a day for any reason please make sure they are here this week for makeups. A makeup test is only given to students who were absent the day of testing. Our 5th graders have one more assessment this week - Science. It will be given on Monday and Tuesday. Please make sure they are here. Monday - Dress in Green! SAC Meeting at 5:30. Tuesday we are having a Dance for attendance!!! All students who missed two days or less this month get to attend!! Wear holiday attire with bells and lights. Wednesday is Early Release Day students will be dismissed at 1:15. We will have a special guest visit - The Grinch. Wear PJs. Thursday is our Winter Wonderland Performance come watch your child perform. PreK- 2 @ 12:00 and 3rd-5th @ 1:15. Refreshments and prizes provided. Wear red and white - look like a candy cane Friday is the last day of the 2nd quarter. Wear favorite holiday gear. No School December 23-January 7 Happy Holidays!!

Good Evening Hive! Here are our weekly updates! Special thank you to all remarkable parents that made sure their child was in school every day and on time. Our PreK - 2 testing went well. Please check your child's backpack for results! This week our 3rd-5th students will be taking state testing. Please know that this test is very important and we need each child to do their BEST. Don't forget 3rd grade scores determine promotion. This test will give us an early read on who needs more support prior to the final test! Make sure they are here and on time every day this week🙂 Deck the Halls with Holiday Cheer! Merry Monday - Dress-Like a Friend Elfie Tuesday - Dress as an elf or wear red and green Wednesday Holly Jolly Hat Day - Wear holiday hats, antlers, etc. Thursday - Wear Ugly Sweater Friday - Wear Flannel We are having a Toy Extravaganza Giveaway on Saturday from 10:00-2:00 if you are in need stop by the school💜 Our Winter Wonderland Event is December 19th. Come see your child perform. Win door prizes, get free gifts, and have refreshments!

The Florida Department of Health-Duval County will be hosting a Health Fair on Friday, 10/25/2024, at our main campus at 515 W. 6th St., Jacksonville, 32209 from 10 am to 2pm and will be offering immunizations for 7th grade and kindergarten students. No appointment is necessary, and I have attached a Health Fair flyer with the event details.
