Winter Holiday Calendar
Welcome back, families!

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday and long weekend! We are happy to see everyone back on Monday as we start the month of December! Here are some weekly updates for December 1st-5th.

State testing season is among us! Some of our students will start this week due to accommodations. The majority of our students will test the week of December 8th-12th. We are sending home FAST letters that have their previous score listed as well as the goal for PM2. We are rewarding students based off them making their goals.

On Wednesday, our Faith-based partner, Restoration Baptist Church, will be on campus to take Santa pictures with our PreK and Kindergarten students. The pictures will be available prior to Winter Break.

We will have a December Countdown Fun Calendar that will be sent home on Monday. It lists important dates but also the various dress up days. This is a fun way to countdown to Winter Break, which is three weeks away.

We are excited to see everyone back on Monday. Have a great rest of your weekend!

Welcome Back RHP Families!

This is your weekly update for the Week of November 24th through November 28th. This is a short week. Students will be in school on Monday and Tuesday only this week. School will be closed Wednesday through Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Some teachers, not all, may send home a Thanksgiving review packet for students to work on. Students who complete the packet will receive BIZI points or extra credit.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. If you are traveling, please be safe. The teachers and staff at Rutledge Pearson Elementary are truly thankful for each and every one of you! have a great rest of your weekend and we will see you all Monday!

Happy Sunday, RHP Families!

There is no school on Monday, November 10th, and Tuesday, November 11th. All students and faculty will return to campus on Wednesday, November 12th. We hope you enjoy this small break and the cooler weather on the way. Since is a shorter week we do not have any major events happening this week.

However, we will send out flyers about a few upcoming events on Wednesday. We will send out fliers for our Fall Festival and Math Night that will take place on Thursday, November 20th, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. The event is free, but food and other items from various vendors will be available for purchase. We will have games, bounce houses, face painting, hay rides, and more. The other event will be our annual Turkey Trot on Friday, November 21st. The cost is $5. The event will include the trot, turkey run ribbons, and hot chocolate. All the money collected will go to support student rewards for testing and attendance.

Starting on Wednesday, we will collect various hygiene items for the Sultzbacher Center for the holiday season. We will collect items such as soap, deodorant, socks, shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, baby powder, and more. For all of our students who bring those items in they will receive 25 extra BIZI points. Please help us by donating. Last year our school was a major contributor to the Sultzbacher Center.

Enjoy this long weekend! Stay warm and we will see everyone on Wednesday morning!

Weekly Updates for the Week of November 3rd-7th

Welcome Back! I hope you had a nice weekend and remembered to turn your clocks back an hour. We are starting a brand new month as we say hello to November. This week is slow and steady and we welcome that. The last few weeks of October were extremely busy so slowing down is needed.
This week, we will have our PTA/SAC meeting on Tuesday, November 4th, from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm in the Media Center. Come out and see how you can help us organize events that are upcoming.

Our 5th graders that met the 2024-2025 Math FAST Proficiency score as a 4th grader will be invited to the STEM Day at Young Women and Men Leadership Academy on Friday, November 7th. Look for the Field trip form to go home on Monday. Slips must be returned by Thursday the latest.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Have a great evening and we will see everyone on Monday morning!

Weekly Update for the Week of October 27th-31st

This is a busy week for Rutledge students, but one that is filled with hard work and fun. Here is the rundown:

This week is Say No to Drugs Week, so we will have a Spirit Week to go along with it. Here are the Spirit Days:
Monday- Rally in Red- wear lots of Red!
Tuesday- Our Future is Bright- wear sunglasses or hat (uniform still needed)
Wednesday- Sock it to Drugs- wear crazy socks
Thursday- Turn your Back on Drugs- wear clothes backwards
Friday- Characters Make Smart Choices- dress as your favorite book character

Tuesday is SAC/PTA meeting at 5pm in the Media Center. Please come out and support.
Thursday we will host our Literacy Night. For our PreK through 3rd grade there will be a presentation in the Media Center from the University of Florida Lastinger Center around Reading. They will give lots of ideas and resources for our young people to be successful in reading at an early age. They will also provide dinner, maybe Chick-fil-A!
Starting at 6pm in the cafeteria, there will be Reading Games and Activities from our teachers. This is needed to satisfy our passport and then you qualify for the Trunk or Treat activity in the Bus Loop. Our students and classes will also have pumpkin decorated book characters that will need to be voted on. Please come out and help your child's class win a pizza party!
On Friday we will have our Halloween Blast Off ! This is a busy day. We will start in the morning with our Book Character Parade. The parade starts at 9am, so please make sure your students are on time or they will miss the parade festivities. Afterwards, we will start our BIZI store for students to pick up purchases for great behavior, academics, and attendance. Our October Student of the Month Celebration is at 1:00pm in the Media Center. And to end the day, we will have our "Glow in the Dark" Attend "Dance" party. Students who met the attendance goal of being present 19 out of the 21 days in October will attend for free. Students will receive glow-in-the-dark items, chips, and juice! Then we will send them home to you for Halloween Night fun!
Like I said, this is a busy week, but it should be a lot of fun! We will work hard in the classroom and then set up opportunities for kids to enjoy themselves outside the classroom!
Have a great rest of your weekend and see everyone on Monday morning!
